Advantages & Features

  • Eco Friendly - E-rickshaws can be the best alternative to petrol or diesel run vehicles as they are operated on battery. These rickshaws do not emit smoke and thus, will not contribute to the increasing air pollution. The batteries which will be used for the functioning of these rickshaws can be effectively recycled and thus, will solve the problem of battery disposal.
  • Economical -  E-rickshaws are comparatively cheap and can be easily afforded by a common man. Passengers will have to pay a less transport charge. It is cost effective not only for consumers but also for the owners. The batteries can be easily recharged from home or from any place that provides a proper voltage. People who have to travel on daily basis can easily afford to travel by vehicles and small shopkeepers can keep e-loaders in place of hand carts.
  • Free from noise pollution- E-rickshaws are free from creating noise pollution as they do not emit any sound. Passengers can have smooth and comfortable ride.
  • Livelihood- E-rickshaws provide a means of livelihood for the common as well as illiterate people. Without investing much money, the e-rickshaw drivers can earn a good livelihood. Poor people who have no skills can atleast earn their livelihood  by atleast running.
  • Safety- E-rickshaws involve less risk when compared to the other fuel operating vehicles. They can cause less accident as they are slower and lighter than an auto rickshaw. There is a chance of explosion in the case of fuel operating vehicles.
  • Easy Maintenance- As they use electricity, they do not require fuel to operate the engine. E-rickshaws are free from an engine and a gear box and thus, the burden of maintenance is reduced. The motor which is used in these rickshaws is smaller and the battery is placed below it. Hence, maintaining them is quite easier.

Manufacturing process

Fabrication Process

  • The designing of e-riskshaw is standardized to fabrication process.
  • Metal pipe and sheet are cleaned, then de-rusted for grease/oil if any. Then pipe and sheet are cut to size for forming different parts and these parts are formed on press brake.
  • Now different parts and their sub assemblies are fabricated as per their design and size specified by ARAI/ICAT.
  • Chassis are joint through Mig-Welding & finished with stone grinder for better finish.
  • After that, rickshaw is inspected by engineer.
  • After inspection of strength and durability, chassis is ready for powder coating.

Powder Coating Process

  • After Fabrication process, comes the sand blasting cleaning process.
  • In sand blasting, the chassis & the body is de-rust by the chemical process.
  • Again body is cleaned by cloth.
  • After that Rickshaw is ready for Powder Coating Process.
  • In powder coating process, we use standard P.P color.
  • After two three coat of powder coat, the e-rickshaw is sent to Heat-Oven for baking at 220 degree temp.
  • The thickness of powder coating is 70-80 Micron.
  • The complete body is painted as per the design, then shower test is carried out for the leakage.

Assembling & Fitting Process

  • The rickshaw is re-checked after powder coating.
  • Rear suspension system, rear axle and rear wheels are fitted first at the back of chassis, followed by motor.
  • Balanced rod and break rod is fitted just above the rear suspension system followed by wiring harness.
  • Front suspension system, bar spin, front wheel, front braking system, horn and headlight are fitted.
  • Boxed, sheet & fiber roof fitted.
  • Controller, converter, junction box and miniature circuit breaker is fitted below the drivers' seat and batteries are fitted in boxes below passenger seat, then all the connections are made with it.
  • Battery connections are done & spare tyre is fitted.
  • All the accessories that are part of standard vehicle are fitted and connections are made.
